This Puppy Was Abandoned At The Airport With A Heartbreaking Note

We’ve seen many stories like this one, and we always feel sad when awful things happen to cute little pups. Dogs will stay with us no matter what. They don’t care if you’re rich or poor, because all they need is love. And most of the time, people do appreciate how blessed we are for having dogs in our lives.
But sometimes we just wonder what did we do to deserve dogs. Unfortunately, this is one of those stories. This 3-month-old Chihuahua was left injured and abandoned at a Las Vegas airport. You shouldn’t immediately judge his owner, because there’s more to come.

Chewy, the 3-month-old Chihuahua, is a happy dog. She wasn’t abused by her owner, and she was abandoned with a note that explains the whole situation.
Chewy was left with the following heart-breaking note:
“Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much — please love and take care of him.”

Chewy’s owner did the right thing. Dogs don’t have to end up between two fires, in case things go wrong in a relationship. Maybe it is a bit cruel to leave a tiny little Chihuahua alone at the airport. But there wasn’t any choice left for Chewy’s owner.
The 3-month-old pup had to visit a vet, since he was kicked in the head. Maybe things could get worse for Chewy if the stayed with his owner. Maybe he could end up with more serious injuries than just a knot on a head?
But thankfully, Chewy was rescued by one kind person who found him and took him to Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue. When the founder of the shelter, Lindia Gilliam, first learned Chewy’s story she was shocked!
“My heart dropped to my knees,” Gilliam told The Dodo. “I didn’t hesitate to accept him and instructed my foster to immediately get him to an ER.”
“This is a very overlooked issue as a whole,” Gilliam said. “We also wanted to try and get the message to Chewy’s mom that she did a brave thing and that he is safe and will have a great life.”
Chewy successfully recovered from his knot injury, and he will be available for adoption soon. We just hope for a happy and a bright future for the pup and his brave mum who managed to walk away from abuse!
