Awesome Dog Saves A Baby Deer From Drowning

Rescue stories are always there to put a smile on your face. But until now, we’re used to seeing people rescuing uniformity animals who ended up in a bad situation for some reason. Most of these animals are dogs, who’ve been abused or abounded.

But this is something different. In the story you’re about to see, Storm the pup has no hesitation when it comes to saving a life. Storm immediately took action when he saw an unidentified animal drowning in the water. As the pup approached the helpless animal, it turned out to be an injured deer.

The rescue happened when Storm’s owner Mike Freeley took him for a walk. Mike filmed his pup doing a heroic act, and the video went viral.

As you’ll see in the video, Storm gently drags the deer in his mouth, just how he would do with a puppy.

“Storm is saving this baby deer right this minute,” Mike said in the video.

Storm even stayed by the deer’s side and licked her to keep her warm and safe. But when representatives from Strong Island Animal Rescue arrived, the deer jumped into the water and started drowning again.

“They tried to encourage Storm to go back into the water, but the deer was so far out that Storm could not see the deer,” Kutzing from Strong Island Animal Rescue said.

That’s when Frank Floridia from the Strong Island Animal Rescue League had to rescue the baby deer for the second time.

“It was a do-or-die situation,” Floridia told the New York Daily News.

“I really didn’t have much of a choice. If I didn’t go in the water, the deer would’ve died.”

Deer have the ability to swim, but this one was too young and in a panic because it was separated from its mother.

The baby deer has recovered and will be released back in the wild when it’s old enough.
