US Congressman Asks A Senior NASA Panel If Aliens Lived On Mars ‘Thousands Of Years Ago’

Going to other planets is a subject that we’re all interested in. This wasn’t the case around 30 years ago ,but it is our present reality. There are people who still believe that the Earth, but that’s not gonna slow down our technological progress.

You probably know who Elon Musk is, and his ambition to colonize Mars by 2023.

“I think there are really two fundamental paths. One path is we stay on Earth forever, and then there will be some eventual extinction. The alternative is to become a space-bearing civilisation and a multi-planetary species,” Musk said.

“The threshold for a self-sustaining city on Mars or a civilization would be a million people. If you can only go every two years and if you have 100 people per ship, that is 10,000 trips.

“Therefore, at least 100 people per trip is the right order of magnitude, and we may end up expanding the crew section and ultimately taking more like 200 or more people per flight in order to reduce the cost per person.”

But this is Elon Musk. He understands the future, and he’s looking forward to be a part of our next big step as human beings.

On the other hand, we have a US congressman asking questions like whether an alien civilisation lived on Mars ‘thousands of years ago.’

This happened during a hearing of the US House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology on Tuesday. The congressman surprised a panel of senior Nasa scientists with a question about alien life on Mars.

“Is it possible that there was a civilisation on Mars thousands of years ago?” asked the congressman.

“So the evidence is that Mars was different of years ago, not thousands of years ago,” Dr Kenneth Farley responded.

The bizarre exchange went viral on the internet, and people had divided opinions.

The most obvious comment was of course a simple question; ‘Was he for real?’

However, one user on Reddit defended the congressman’s questions saying; “Normal people have no idea or even think about any civilisation outside of Earth and they don’t get to ask questions like this, so this man just cleared that up for the world.”
