We live in a pretty interesting world. Nowadays, many of the love stories begin on the internet. Just 20 years back, who would have thought that Romeo would find his Juliet via dating app!?
Well thousands of marriages today wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for social media, chat apps and dating apps. If 10 years ago somebody suspected the power of dating apps, today there are no such pessimists.
Let’s take a peek at one of the most amazing love stories that has melted everyone’s heart, and it started on a dating app. Better known in the blogosphere as Fat Tony, he had to share his story with the world.
After trying different dating sites and apps and being on thousands of first dates, his friend told him this new app called Bumble. It works different from other apps, because the girl is required to write to the guy first in the next 24 hours after the match is made.
So, he was matched with a beautiful brunette, and had little hope that she would message him. To his big surprise he got a message the following day. Not much of a message really… “Hellp”. So what was he supposed to do? He decided to play on the humor card and replied “Help what? Need a hammer to break the ice? “
From a corny joke to chatting the whole night, they discovered a lot of similarities between them. Date was the next logical step, so they met the following day. From a simple bike ride, they ended up having dinner.
As Fat Tony likes to describe Darlene, he says that she was absolutely gorgeous and he wasn’t able to take his eyes off her. After spending the whole day and having dinner together, they couldn’t say goodbye to each other so they sat on the couch in Fat Tony’s apartment talking the whole night. After Darlene left, he couldn’t wait for the next chance to see her on the Fourth of July.
It is wonderful to know that you are with the right person only a month after spending time together. So as they were eating breakfast on the balcony, Tony was overwhelmed with feelings of belonging with Darlene and the thought simply spilled out of his head “I could get used to this”. A simple, but yet so powerful phrase. Short time after, Darlene and Tony were sharing their apartment.
After spending an amazing year together, they decided to celebrate their anniversary on Catalina Island. It was expected that he would propose to her there but he didn’t. Even thought she was really disappointed, Tony had a bigger thing planned back in Long Beach.
When they got off the boat, he asked her to wait while he went to the restroom. There, he had it all prepared. His buddy was waiting with a change of clothes and the most important thing- a diamond ring. He had flown in her mother and brother from New York to be part of the special event and to surprise her. As she was hugging her mother, Tony took the position on one knee. As it is not romantic enough, he proposed in Polish, because it is her first language.
After being engaged for only four months they got married on December 11th 2016. They are spending their honeymoon all around the world, as they have decided to fly out and travel the world. Soon after they announced their engagement, they announced they are having a baby too.
