Breathtaking Hotels Around The World To Stay For Free

The British daily newspaper-the Guardian has released a list of hotels where tourist can stay for free in exchange for a wide range of services, in different parts of the world.  If you’re a traveler, pack your bags and let’s travel the world.

Helga’s Folly

One of the hotels on the list is ‘Helga’s Folly’ in Sri Lanka. It is a 30-room boutique hotel located in the city of Kandy. The walls of this place are covered in frenetic and otherworldly murals. Helga de Silva Blow Perera, the owner of the hotel was still in grief over the death of her husband, so her father suggested to ‘’doodle the grief out’’, and what started as a coping mechanism resulted in breathtaking art spread all over the walls of ‘Helga’s Folly’. Now, anybody who’s willing to contribute by drawing on the walls for half a day can stay here for free.

Mad Monkey hostels

Mad Monkey hostels, located in six different places around the Philippines and Cambodia are granting roof over the head for artists, DJs, photographers, writers and anybody creative. You can stay for free at any of these hostels in exchange for doing a DJ set, organizing an event or creating a piece of art for the hostel.

Piha Beachstay

With no money whatsoever tourists are welcomed to stay in the coastal Piha Beachsay hostel in Auckland, New Zealand. Guests will ‘pay’ for their stay here by helping with the garden or by participating in environment protection projects.

Sunrock Backpackers

Sunrock Backpackers, a hostel located on the Greek island of Corfu, offers free stay in exchange for your help with the household chores or the lovely farm.

Casa Mermejita

To stay in the eco-hotel Casa Mermejita in Mexico, tourists should make a sculpture out of sand or stones. This contemporary art will improve the atmosphere and the artistic playground of the hotel.
