Strange Things Humans Are Capable Of

Humans are so complicated. And I mean this in any way possible. There is no such science that can explain the human ‘design’. Thousands of chemical reactions and mechanisms occur in the human body in just a second.
*Fun (or creepy) quote that is actually true: “The human body essentially recreates itself every six months. Nearly every cell of hair and skin and bone dies and another is directed to its former place. You are not who you were last November.”
With this thought in mind we can conclude that humans are totally weird. Let’s check some of the weirdest things the human body is capable of.
The eyes are the window to the soul
Eyes show the real feelings. Studies have shown that your pupils open up and spread whenever you are seeing someone who you like or have feelings for.
You can be your own ‘pain killer’
Did you know that if you rub some ice cubes between the thumb and index finger you will block the nerves which won’t let the pain get to your face. In this way you can prevent toothache. Also, coughing relieves the pain stimulus in your brain, and therefore reduces its intensity.
Humans are genius
The cells in the human brain can maintain from 3 to 1000 terabytes of information. British National Archives, where history of 900 years is kept, takes up only 70 terabytes. This is mind-blowing. If we only used our brains right…
The sense of smell is associated with memory
The part of the brain responsible for scent “shares “the same part of the brain responsible for memory and feelings. It is no wonder why a scent can bring up so many memories.
Every person is unique
Every person has a one of a kind smell and finger print. Identical twins are the only exception from this rule because they have the same smell.
Human body can predict the weather
When the temperature goes down, you feel pressure and pain in your wrists. A drop in temperature can often cause chemical imbalance which unfortunately often leads to a headache.
We were all born Daltonians
People who are color-blind are called Daltonians. Did you know that all newborns are born color-blind, and for some time they see the world in a black and white variant.
You have a tennis court in your chest
Your lungs need a lot of breathing space. The whole area of the lungs is approximately as large as a tennis court. Now that’s weird.
People shed skin
Every minute, about 300 million cells die in the human body. Every day, just as many new cells are created. The dead cells must be replaced with new ones. Just as a snake sheds its skin… So, the next time somebody calls you a snake don’t get upset- it is in a way true!
Humans are heat machines
In just 30 minutes, the average person can produce enough heat to boil 1,9 liters of water.
After all been said, the conclusion is obvious: humans are really one of a kind organism. Weird living creatures, aren’t we?
